ILLEGAL Israeli Settlements

In a series of agreements known as the Geneva Conventions, formulated in the aftermath of World War II, the international community established a set of accepted rules and standards for the protection of civilians, prisoners and injured people in times of war.

Under the Fourth Geneva Convention, which defines humanitarian protections for civilians caught in a war zone, an occupying power is forbidden from transferring parts of its civilian population into the territory it occupies.

The State of Israel was created after the mass expulsion and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian population into Gaza and the remaining Palestinians live in other areas including the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

The Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem live under an Israeli military occupation.

The goal of the Israeli Government is to one day control all land in Palestine and to expel it's entire population. The Zionist government aims to achieve this goal by depriving the Palestinians of basic civil rights using Apartheid policies of oppression. The near total destruction of Gaza under a plausible case of Genocide currently ongoing in the ICJ is to deprive Palestinians of their homes to make them leave the land. To make an area inhabitable is one of the factors in genocide.

In the last 52 years, the Israeli government has transferred between 600,000 and 750,000 Jewish Israelis to the West Bank and East Jerusalem. They live in at least 160 settlements and outposts. These settlements are created in order to expand Zionist Israeli population into Palestinian land to make claim upon that land.

These settlements are illegal under international law and recognised as such by the UK.

The international community has long been silent on this continued abuse of international law, it is one of the many reasons that Palestinians have suffered for so long. Politicians in the UK including politicians who are human rights lawyers have stayed silent in the face of mountain of evidences of war crimes such as the shooting of civilians waving white flags by Israel snipers and also the targeted killing of aid workers delivering essential food. The US and UK rely on Israeli Government to conduct these investigations into war crimes however very little action has ever been taken against IDF soldiers or settlers who attack Palestinians. It has been this way since the State of Israel was established.t

The tides are changing however with the independent ICC and ICJ investigations ongoing into Israeli crimes.
